Based on the classic movie musical starring Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds, Singiní in the Rain follows silent film actor Don Lockwood (Philip Meinecke) who with the help of best friend Cosmo (Raina Tynis) tries to convince aspiring actress Kathy (Amanda Tomasi) to fall for him, avoid his manipulative co-star Lina (Elise Brevik), and save Monumental Pictures. Unlike previous productions, this one came with the added challenges of tap dancing as well as attempting to pay homage to the 1952 film and its 1927 setting. Also setting this production apart are all the added effects, including a rain system for the title song, and actual silent film footage shot at the Old Courthouse in Woodstock. Singiní in the Rain is kid-friendly, and has a little something for everyone, so bring the entire family! Performance dates are March 9 and 10 at 7 pm as well as March 11th at 2 and 7 pm. Early booking at is encouraged, and those interested in updates and previews should check out the Marengo Thespianís Facebook page. »
