The Board of Education and Administration of Marengo Community High School District 154 are pleased to announce the hiring of Paul Forsythe as the new Head Football Coach and Physical Education Instructor. He will begin working with our athletes immediately during our summer football and conditioning camps.

I want to thank David Engelbrecht for this opportunity, and all the Marengo administration and staff involved in the interview process, Coach Forsythe said. I also want to thank Matt Lynch for building such a strong foundation here. Coach Lynch and the staff have planted seeds that will bear fruit for years to come.

"As I went through the different phases of interviews it was apparent to me Marengo is good place, and they are about kids here. The feeling I got throughout was they measure success by how kids are impacted. It just felt right for me and my family and I'm excited about the opportunities ahead.

Coach Forsythe has been the Head Football Coach and Offensive Coordinator at Minooka Community High School District #111 since 2012, and prior to that was assistant football coach and PE teacher at Minooka since 2002. He received his MA in Teaching from Olivet Nazarene University and his BS in Exercise Physiology from Aurora University. He was a three-year starter at Aurora University, receiving an honorable mention USA Football All-American Team, two-time first team all conference player, team captain and team MVP in 2001.

The Board hired Coach Forsythe from a slate of 34 candidates after an extensive interview process with administrators and teachers. While he currently resides with his wife and two daughters in Plainfield, Illinois, his family is now actively searching for a new home closer to our area. We would like to welcome Coach Forsythe to MCHS and look forward to his leadership here. »
