HOSA is getting ready for a great 2013-2014 membership year. We are currently accepting memberships and recruiting many new faces. We are reminding all members to like our FaceBook page at “Marengo HOSA” and check out our new website to get all the current event information on HOSA happenings. Monthly mass meetings will be held at 7:40 am AND 3:05 pm in room 1104 on the second Friday of each month. Members must attend one meeting per month. »


The MCHS Board of Education approved the formation of the MCHS Hall of Fame during the spring of 2011. The purpose of the Hall of Fame is to honor and recognize Marengo students, staff members, teams and supporters who have demonstrated excellence and commitment. Inductees are chosen by a selection committee of ten people, including MCHS staff, Board members and community members. Inductees are chosen from one of the following categories: Service, Personal Achievement, Extra-Curricular Achievement, Commitment, Friend of Marengo and Teamwork.

Last February, the inaugural MCHS Hall of Fame was inducted. Inductees included:

The Hall of Fame selection committee will be meeting in the near future to discuss the 2014 inductees. If you know of an individual or team who has exhibited exemplary service, achievement, commitment or teamwork and would like the Hall of Fame selection committee to consider them for induction, please complete a nomination form (located on our website at or contact Susan McGuire at 815-568-6511 x1501. A mandatory meeting for all winter athletes and their parents will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2013. This meeting is for all winter sports and all levels. Any parent and athlete that did not attend the mandatory fall meeting needs to plan on arriving at 6:30 p.m. for a parent/athlete meeting. If you were in a fall sport you need to be at the school by 7:00 p.m. to meet with your coaches. »


HOSA’s first blood drive of year will be Wednesday, October 2nd in room 1403 from 9 am until 2 pm. You must be at least 16 years old to donate. All students must have a signed permission slip to donate regardless of age. Community members are invited to join us in making a difference! »

Culver’s of Huntley has partnered with the Marengo FFA Chapter as part of a larger, nationwide effort by Culver’s and its guests to thank the family farmers on which the restaurants depend. On September 15, 2013 Culver’s will donate a percentage of their sales from 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. to the Marengo FFA Chapter. Culver’s “Thank You, Farmers” partnership in participating restaurants all over the U.S. was unveiled in July to help spread awareness and generate support for this nation’s hardworking farmers.

The Marengo FFA Chapter helps this next generation meet the challenges of feeding a growing population by encouraging members to develop their own unique talents and explore their agricultural interests in a broad range of career pathways - from future farmers to biologists to veterinarians. »
